Supreme overseers supervise authorities and other bodies performing public tasks

The Parliamentary Ombudsman and the Chancellor of Justice monitor that authorities and other parties performing public tasks comply with law and fulfil their obligations. Therefore, the Parliamentary Ombudsman or the Chancellor of Justice can handle complaints concerning compensation procedure from the statutory insurance, for instance the statutory employment pension insurance, workers’ compensation insurance, motor liability insurance or patient insurance.

The Parliamentary Ombudsman and the Chancellor of Justice supervise authorities, civil servants and other persons and bodies performing public tasks. Supervision covers for instance private insurance companies and unemployment funds when these handle statutory insurances, such as motor liability insurances, or compensations. The Parliamentary Ombudsman and the Chancellor of Justice cannot intervene in the practices of businesses, private entrepreneurs or individual persons or legal issues between these parties.
